West Bengal CM and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee on Monday accused BJP of bringing goons from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to attack her. Mamata Banerjee said that she wants a fair election and added that she will respond to BJP “like a lion.”

“They attacked me. No one from Nandigram attacked me but you brought goons from UP, Bihar. We want a free and fair election. If they come, women should beat them up with utensils,” she said, ANI reported.

“Those who can’t love culture, can’t do politics here. Nandigram witnessing hooliganism. We did meeting in Birulia, TMC office destroyed. He’s (Suvendu Adhikari) doing whatever he wants. I can play games too. I too will respond like lion. I’m Royal Bengal tiger,” she added.

The TMC supremo was injured when she went to file her nomination from Nandigram earlier in March. She had alleged that she was attacked. The Election Commission of India (ECI) ruled out an attack and said she was injured due to security lapse.

West Bengal goes to polls in eight phases, the first phase was held on March 27. The counting of votes will be done on May 2.
