Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne has welcomed his first child, Hallie Grace, with his wife Rebekah. Hallie Grace was born on September 20, 2022. The batter, who was not included in the ongoing India vs Australia T20I series, said on Twitter, “Bek and I are so excited to welcome Hallie Grace Labuschagne to the world on the 20th of September. Easily the proudest moment of my life so far.”

In May 2022, Labuschagne announced for the first time that he and Rebekah were expecting their first child. The couple married in 2017. The ace batter has also posted a picture on Twitter of himself with his newborn daughter, captioning it, “Embracing the dad life”.

Labuschagne is currently enjoying some time off cricket after not being included in the Australia squad for the T20 World Cup that is set to commence in the country on October 16. The 27-year-old has played only one T20I in his career and is more comfortable as well as prolific in the longest format of the game.

The batter has played 28 Test matches for his country, scoring 2539 runs at an impressive average of 54.02. He has seven Test tons and one Test double century to his name.

Laubschagne was born in South Africa and emigrated to Australia in 2004 at the age of 10. In 2010, the batter was working for Australia’s Channel 9 as a Hot Spot infrared camera operator. He was present at the Gabba for the 2010-11 Ashes series in which Peter Siddle claimed a hattrick.

The 27-year-old rose through the cricketing ranks at Queensland, playing for their U-12, U-15, U-17, and U-19 sides. Currently, besides the Australian cricket team, he plays for the Big Bash League side Brisbane Heat and the Glamorgan County Cricket Club.
