Canadian actor Keanu Reeves, who gained critical acclaim with his iconic portrayal of Neo in the science fiction trilogy The Matrix, celebrates his 56th birthday today.

The Canadian star who turned 56 on Wednesday, was born in Beirut, Lebanon.

Reeves has starred in countless box office hits, including ‘Speed’, ‘The Devil’s Advocates’, ‘John Wick and Constantine’. The 56-year-old won has won three MTV movie awards and has also received Best Actor nominations at Saturn Awards during his career.

The actor rose to prominence with the Science fiction comedy Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure in 1989.

Reeves recently starred in the movie ‘Bill and Ted Face the Music’, a third installment of the franchise, which was released on August 29.

Reeves has also directed movies and his directorial debut ‘Man of Tai Chi’ released in 2013.

Reeves’ recent performance in the movie John Wick, a neo-noir action thriller, has earned him commercial success. The movie that was initially a one-off produced sequels which emerged as major commercial hits. 

The actor is currently dating Alexandra Grant, an American visual artist. The couple went public with their relationship in November 2019.
