A ‘monolith’ was spotted in a garden in Ahmedabad city, Gujarat -after similar structures have mysteriously appeared and vanished in different parts of the world since November, PTI reported.

The monoliths, made of shiny steel sheets, have been mysteriously appearing around the world, was seen in India for the first time.

Although it became a hit among the city dwellers after it was spotted in a garden on SG Highway on Thursday morning, the mystery around it did not last long. It was disclosed that a private company had installed it.

To keep the mystery alive, the company had not made any announcement except for sharing some pictures on the Facebook page of the Forest Park on December 29.

The garden that is situated near Gurudwara in the Thaltej area, is jointly managed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Symphony Ltd. It was recently inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani.

The three-sided monolith had first appeared and then vanished after a few days in a remote desert in Utah, United States. Later, similar structures were found in 30 other countries across the world.

“The monolith has been placed there by the Symphony Ltd which takes care of the garden. The structure has been installed by the company for the visitors. People can see their reflection on the shiny surfaces of the structure and take selfies too,” said Director of the AMC’s Garden Department, Jignesh Patel.

The monolith-like structure was installed at Symphony Forest Park on December 29. However, it gained popularity on Thursday. People were flocking to the garden to see the structure.

“This is really amazing that the monolith actually appeared in our city. Since these structures tend to disappear in some time, I have come here with my friends to click selfies,” said one youngster.
