One cannot not love a dog movie, even if he or she claims to hate dogs. These animals are puddles of joy, and watching films that have them instantly gives us a bout of happiness. They remind us how lucky we are to have that friend in our lives who would just give up everything for us. They show how important it is to find that friend, to those who do not own a pup.

Hachi: A Dog’s Tale

This 2009 film based on a true story is sure to make you an emotional puddle by the time it ends. Hachi is adapted from the 1987 Japanese film Hachikō Monogatari. The movie shows an unbreakable bond between a professor and his dog Hachiko, who he adopted and took home. 

A Dog’s Purpose

Directed by Lasse Hallström, A Dog’s Purpose is a tale which surely moves you. After going through four lifetimes and various owners, a dog is finally able to understand his purpose in this world. He realises that it is about having fun and living in the moment, while saving others and making them happy.

101 Dalmatians

Based on walt Disney’s film One Hundred and One Dalmatians, this 1996 live action remake is a comedy and action filled drama. The 101 dogs have to escape from the evil Cruella De Vil’s hands as she wants to use their fur to make a coat. To rescue them, a computer game writer Roger and a fashion designer Anita join hands.

Benji

Benji is an independent dog who does not need an owner. But when two kids, Carter and Frankie, are kidnapped, the orphaned pup understands that he must come to rescue. Along the way, he finds love in a cute Maltese named Tiffany.  The 1974 film recently got its remake from Netflix.
