A video has been doing rounds on social media in which a man is seen beating a Muslim boy after he drank water in a temple. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The boy was thrashed by the accused of allegedly drinking water in a Hindu Temple. The video was first shared by a Twitter user named Mohammed Zubair. Sharing the video, he wrote: “According to a Instagram account (hinduektasanghh), A muslim kid was mercilessly beaten for drinking water in a temple.”

In the video, accused Shringi Nandan Yadav was seen asking the child’s name, to which the child replied saying his name is Asif. As he heard the boy’s name, he started attacking him.

The viral video sparked outrage on Twitter with a lot of people condemning the ‘inhuman’ incident and demanded that proper action should be taken. From Bollywood Actor Swara Bhaskar to RTI activist Saket Gokhale took to Twitter, supporting the boy.

A lot of people came in support of Asif and said that the incident should not have taken place and its ‘inhuman’ to go to that extent while support poured in for the boy on social media.

The Ghaziabad police have, as of now, arrested the accused, who hails from Bihar’s Bhagalpur. Yadav has been taken under custody and a case has also been registered against him.
