The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the change in dynamics of the world, even the ‘divine nation – Kailasa’, which the self-styled godman Nithyananda has ‘founded’ is not untouched. Following the footsteps of the United Kingdom, United States and other countries, the island nation has closed its door for Indians, for now.

The “signed and sealed” statement, termed as the ‘Presidential Mandate’, says that “Due to the second and third wave of coronavirus, all de facto spiritual embassies of Kailasa in the countries listed below are sealed and no public will be allowed until further notice.

The “executive order” is applicable not just to Indians but also on Brazil, European Union and Malaysia travellers.

The statement, put out on microblogging site Twitter, says “All Kailasians, Ekailasians, volunteers associated with these de facto embassies of Kailasa are to quarantine themselves and adhere to the precautionary measures advised by the local laws.”

Nithyananda, who is an accused in sexual assault case, has been hiding on the remote island off the coast of Ecuador since 2019.

The absconder baba has appealed to the United Nations to declare the Kailasa as a separate country, which he refers to as the

‘Hindu sovereign nation’ with its own cabinet and Prime Minister.

In August last year, the rape-accused who calls himself the ‘Supreme Pontiff’ of Kailasa and is on the run, launched his own ‘Reserve Bank of Kailasa’, and the official currency of the island – ‘Kailashian dollars’.
