Mau (UP), May 22 (PTI) SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday said his ally Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has become too used to air-conditioned rooms and advised him to venture out more often to meet people. On being asked if Yadav will not mind his advice, Rajbhar asserted that “the truth is bitter” and he has not said anything wrong. Asked later what prompted him to make such a statement, Rajbhar told PTI, His (Akhilesh Yadav) party leaders complain that he does not meet anyone. He should venture out more often to constituencies. Asked again if his statement would not be taken otherwise by Yadav or the SP, Rajbhar said, Why should it be taken otherwise? Have I said anything wrong? Truth is bitter.” “His leaders have told me that I should advise him so that he meets people, strengthens his party and shun his 'navratnas' (nine gems) who surround him,” the SBSP chief added. Rajbhar also said Yadav’s party men allege that he was prevented by his associates from forming government in the 2022 assembly elections. “His people say his 'navratnas' did not allow him to form the government. The people were ready to vote for him but he was not ready to take votes, Rajbhar said. Asked what will happen if SP snaps its ties with the SBSP over his statement, Rajbhar said, I have formed the party (SBSP) on my own, and work on my strength. A person who requires me will come to me automatically. The Samajwadi Party has 111 MLAs in the 403-member UP Assembly, while its ally SBSP has six MLAs.

Ballia (UP) May 11 (PTI) SBSP president Om Prakash Rajbhar, an SP ally, on Wednesday targeted the Yogi government alleging that he was attacked in Ghazipur at the behest of the BJP leaders who were miffed at their party’s poor show in Purvanchal in the recent elections. Rajbhar, while talking to reporters at the party office in Rasra on Tuesday, alleged that the mob attacked him with the intention of killing him. Earlier, when there was a robbery, dacoits used to shout ‘Jai Bhavani’. Now the people of BJP shout ‘Jai Shri Ram’ before they attack someone,” he said. “Even as they attacked me, they raised the slogan Jai Shri Ram. I have video of the incident as proof,” Rajbhar said. The BJP was wiped out from Azamgarh in Purvanchal region to Ambedkar Nagar, Ghazipur etc. in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. “Due to this the BJP leaders and their goons are furious. That is why I was attacked so that they can stop my campaign against the BJP,” the former cabinet minister said. Rajbhar also said that he will stage a sit-in in Ghazipur if the culprits behind the incident were not arrested within 24 hours. Rajbhar, an MLA from Ghazipur's Zahoorabad seat, claimed that he was told by the villagers that a conspiracy was being hatched for the past two months to kill him. He had released a video on Tuesday alleging that while he was meeting some people in a village in his assembly constituency on Monday morning, about 10-12 BJP supporters armed with sticks tried to attack him. He could escape only because of the presence of the security personnel, he had said. On Tuesday, the Samajwadi Party too had spoken about the attack on Rajbhar by some lathi-wielding men in his assembly constituency. Accusing the BJP of indulging politics of communal polarisation, Rajbhar told reporters that BJP was “once again fanning the politics of hate to win the next Lok Sabha elections” to be held in 2024. He said as the Lok Sabha elections are approaching, BJP is once again raking up Gyanvapi and Taj Mahal. “The government is busy doing politics of Hindu and Muslim and hatred. The attention of the government is not on the problems related to the common people. BJP is raising the issue of Gyanvapi and Taj Mahal to divert the common people from issues that concern them,” he said. In response to a question on the continued tussle between SP president Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, Rajbhar said if Akhilesh Yadav asks for his help, he can try to solve the problem between them. It would not be appropriate to interfere unsolicited in close family matters, Rajbhar added.

Lucknow, Mar 29 (PTI) Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSPL) head Shivpal Yadav on Tuesday skipped a meeting here between Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and SP allies, triggering speculation that he is upset with his nephew.Shivpal, who had fought the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls on an SP ticket was not invited to the party MLAs’ meeting on March 26, and had indicated his unhappiness then.On Tuesday, leaders of Samajwadi Party (SP) allies, including SBSP leader Om Prakash Rajbhar, RLD leader Rajpal Balyan and Apna Dal (K) leader Pallavi Patel, attended the meeting with Akhilesh Yadav. But his uncle and ally Shivpal Yadav did not attend.Asked about his absence from the latest meeting, Shivpal told reporters in Etawah, I will not say anything. If I have something to share, I will call you (media). Rajbhar, however, played down the absence of the PSPL chief, saying there are no differences in the alliance.Talking about the meeting, RLD leader Balyan said here, We discussed about our future strategy in the House (assembly). Lucknow, Mar 20 (PTI) SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday dismissed claims of joining former ally BJP in Uttar Pradesh and meeting Amit Shah, saying neither did he go to Delhi, nor meet anyone.The claims were made on social media on Saturday that Rajbhar had met Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Shah in the national capital.The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) had fought the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls with the BJP, but severed ties with the saffron party as Rajbhar quit the Yogi Adityanath cabinet before the 2019 general elections.In 2022, the SBSP fought the Uttar Pradesh polls as part of the Samajwadi Party-led alliance, which lost at the hustings.The news (of SBSP joining hands with the BJP) is baseless. Neither did I go to Delhi, nor meet anyone. We are with the Samajwadi Party, and have started preparations for the upcoming urban local bodies elections in the state, Rajbhar told reporters here.SBSP national general secretary and spokesperson Arun Rajbhar told PTI, There is no question of aligning with the BJP. The photo doing rounds on social media is an old photo. An attempt is being made so that we may align with the BJP. We are with the Samajwadi Party and will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with them, he said.In the 2022 polls, the BJP won 255 of the 403 assembly seats in the state, while the Samajwadi Party got 111. Lucknow, Mar 10 (PTI) All set to form a majority government for the second time in a row in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has managed to increase its vote share despite a loss of over 50 seats from its tally of 2017. The BJP had won 312 of the 384 seats contested by it in the 2017 assembly elections and its vote share was 39.67 per cent. Till 9.30 pm, the BJP had won 216 seats and was leading in 39 others with a vote share of 41.4 per cent, according to the Election Commission of India website. Going by this, the BJP is expected to get 255 seats this time around which will be a loss of 57 seats when compared to its 2017 tally, even as the party's vote share has increased.With a second consecutive victory, the BJP has also repeated history as the feat was last achieved 37 years ago by the Congress.In 1985, the Congress had formed its majority government for two successive terms.The BJP had fought the election in alliance with Apna Dal (Sonelal) and Nirbal Indian Social Hamara Apna Dal (NISHAD Party). It had contested 376 seats on its own while leaving the remaining for its allies.It had given 17 seats to Apna Dal (S), which contested on its own symbol, while out of the 16 seats given to the NISHAD party, 10 candidates fought on its own symbol and the remaining on BJP symbol.In 2017, the BJP had given 11 seats to Apna Dal (s) and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) led by Omprakash Rajbhar. Lucknow, Mar 8 (PTI) The Samajwadi Party and its allies on Tuesday alleged that two trucks laden with electronic voting machines have gone missing in Varanasi after the March 7 voting. The SP along with its allies Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj party and Janwadi Party (Socialist) made the allegation in a memorandum submitted to the office of Chief Electoral Officer in Lucknow. We have submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission regarding the missing EVMs with trucks fleeing with EVMs in Varanasi,” SP's chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary told PTI. When contacted, UP’s Additional Chief Electoral Officer B D R Tiwari told PTI, We have taken cognisance of the matter. Action will be taken as per the provisions of the law. Chaudhary said he along with the SP's UP unit chief Naresh Uttam, SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar and Sanjay Chauhan of the Janwadi Party (Socialist) has submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission regarding the missing EVM-laden trucks in Varanasi. “We have also demanded the removal of the Varanasi district magistrate and the divisional commissioner of the Varanasi division, the SP spokesperson said. Chaudhary made the allegation shortly after SP chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the ruling BJP of attempting to steal votes and said exit polls are meant to create a perception that the saffron party will emerge victorious in the Uttar Pradesh election. At a press conference here, he also alleged that government officials in Lucknow are directing their subordinates in the districts to slow down the counting of votes and prolong the process till late night where the chances of the BJP winning the election are slim.

Lucknow, Jan 12 (PTI) OBC leader Om Prakash Rajbhar on Wednesday claimed that one to two ministers would quit the Yogi Adityanath Cabinet daily and this figure would go up to 18 by January 20. Rajbhar made the claim while welcoming the resignation of Uttar Pradesh ministers Swami Prasad Maurya and Dara Singh Chauhan. I had realised BJP's apathy towards Dalits, backwards and the deprived sections of the society in a short time after joining the government in 2017 but these people waited all these days and, left with no hope, are quitting it now, the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief said. Rajbhar has joined hands with the Samajwadi Party for the 2022 assembly elections. One or two wickets of the BJP Cabinet will fall every day and this figure will reach one-and-a-half dozen by January 20, he said at a programme on a TV channel after the resignation of Forest and Environment Minister Dara Singh Chauhan on Wednesday and that of Maurya a day ago. In the last state assembly polls, Rajbhar was an alliance partner of the BJP and his party had won four seats then. Rajbhar himself was elected from Zahoorabad in Ghazipur district and was made a minister in the Yogi Adityanath government. He, however, had quit the Cabinet in 2019 and broken ties with the saffron party. Asked about his claim of one-and-a-half dozen ministers quitting Cabinet in Uttar Pradesh and their names, Rajbhar said, Everybody will come to know about it as and when it happens. Why shall I name them? The separation of Rajbhar, Maurya and Chauhan has dented the saffron party's support among numerically significant non-Yadav, “Other Backward Class” people in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh. Rajbhar, who attended a meeting of the allies called by SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav during the day, said things were going forward smoothly in the opposition alliance and names of the candidates of grouping would be announced phase-wise without any hassle.

He also claimed that Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel is in touch with the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) for the polls. Rajbhar added that several BJP ministers are in touch with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Rajbhar's party has forged an alliance with the SP for the state assembly polls slated to begin from February 10. Speaking to a news channel, the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief said BJP ministers meet Akhilesh Yadav late in the night and then the SP chief seeks his opinion. “A BJP leader met me over a cup of tea. I asked him from where is he contesting, following which he asked me the same question. I told him that the list is yet to be finalised. He then said that he is preparing to contest from the Sarojini Nagar Assembly constituency,” Rajbhar said. “I told him that you prepare for the elections and if the party (BJP) does not give you a ticket, then you can fight the polls on our party ticket, he said. A SBSP leader said the BJP leader in question is Dayashankar Singh, the BJP's UP vice-president. When contacted, Dayashankar Singh told PTI, We know each other very well, and it was an informal meeting (with Rajbhar). At present, the Sarojini Nagar Assembly constituency is held by state minister Swati Singh, the wife of Dayashankar Singh. Meanwhile, Rajbhar also told PTI, Union minister and president of Apna Dal (Sonelal) Anupriya Patel is in touch with the SP. Talks are on between Anupriya and the SP leadership. Now, everybody has got an idea that farewell of the BJP is definite in Uttar Pradesh. He said how far have the talks progressed, only Akhilesh Yadav can say something about it. However, Ashish Patel, the working president of Apna Dal (Sonelal), told PTI, For Rajbhar, it is enough to know that Apna Dal (S) is a part of the BJP-led NDA. Discussions on seat sharing with the BJP is going on, and this time, the party will contest on more seats as compared to the previous elections. In the 2017 state assembly polls, the Apna Dal (S) had contested as an ally of the BJP on 12 seats, and won nine seats.

Rajbhar’s party has forged an alliance with the SP for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. Rajbhar said a BJP leader met him over a cup of tea. I asked him from where is he contesting, following which he asked me the same question. I told him that the list is yet to be finalised. He then said that he is preparing to contest from the Sarojini Nagar Assembly constituency, Rajbhar said. He added, I told him that you prepare for the elections and if the party (BJP) does not give you a ticket, then you can fight the polls on our party ticket. A SBSP leader said that the BJP leader in question is Dayashankar Singh, the BJP's UP vice-president. Despite repeated efforts, Dayashankar Singh could not be contacted for comments. At present, the Sarojini Nagar Assembly constituency is held by UP minister Swati Singh, the wife of Dayashankar Singh.

Offered ticket to senior BJP leader, claims Rajbhar

Ballia, Dec 5 (PTI) In a controversial statement, a BJP leader on Sunday called BKU leader Rakesh Tikait a terrorist and said the withdrawal of the central farm laws will lead to losses for farmers and profit for Khalistani gundas. In a purported video that surfaced on social media, the former Ghosi Lok Sabha MP, Harinarayan Rajbhar, also alleged that Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar worked as a shooter of mafia Mukhtar Ansari. The BJP leader held Tikait responsible for the death of 700 farmers during the course of the agitation against the laws and demanded that a case be registered against him and his property seized to compensate the kin of dead farmers. Farm union leaders have claimed that over 700 farmers died during the course of the agitation. In the video message, Rajbhar said the protesting farmer leaders, including Tikait, are ugravaadi (terrorists). Rakesh Tikait is responsible for the death of 700 farmers, who were protesting against the three farm laws. A case should be registered against Tikait and his property be seized so that compensation be given to kin of the dead farmers,” he said. The withdrawal of the three farm laws has resulted in a big loss for farmers and profit for a handful of Khalistani gundas, he alleged. Farmer leaders took undue advantage of the flexible stand of the government. The protesters are not farmers, he said. Harinarayan Rajbhar also attacked SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar, saying before joining politics, the opposition party leader was a shooter of mafia Mukhtar Ansari. Om Prakash Rajbhar in order to hide his criminal past, donned the attire of a politician, he alleged. Reacting to the BJP leader’s statement, SBSP general secretary Arun Rajbhar said, This is only a reflection of a possible defeat, which the BJP will face in the upcoming elections. The leader who has made the statement should show a document to prove his claims.

Ballia (UP), Dec 5 (PTI) SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday said the Samajwadi Party will conduct a caste census and give representation to all sections of the society as per their numbers, if voted to power in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.Rajbhar, whose party entered into an alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP) for the polls, told reporters in Rasra that Akhilesh Yadav will be the chief minister if the alliance comes to power.Asked to comment on his idea of five chief ministers and 20 deputy chief ministers on a rotational basis, he clarified that his statement was applicable in case the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha had formed the government.Our aim is to remove the BJP, and make Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister, Rajbhar said.On Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya's recent remarks regarding Lord Krishna temple in Mathura, the SBSP leader called Maurya “BJP ka tota” (parrot of BJP).Maurya had on Wednesday stirred a controversy by apparently supporting the construction of the Krishna temple in Mathura, where a temple and a mosque are located close to each other.The construction of grand temples is on in Ayodhya and Kashi, and preparations are on for one in Mathura (Ayodhya Kashi bhavya mandir nirmaan jaari hai, Mathura ki tayaari hai),” he had tweeted.Mathura is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna and some Hindu outfits have claimed that the actual birthplace is located inside an Aurangzeb-era mosque built next to a prominent temple in the holy city.Meanwhile, talking about an alliance with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for, the SBSP chief said Owaisi should first make up his mind for an alliance with the SP”.“If Owaisi demands 100 seats, how can there be an alliance with him? he asked.The AIMIM had announced that it would contest on 100 seats in the upcoming state polls by tying up with SBSP and its Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha. Yadav made the claim after completing his party’s ‘Vijay Rath Yatra’ from Ghazipur to Lucknow as part of its poll campaign. The enthusiasm of the people attending rallies of his party and allies from Ghazipur to Lucknow and vacant seats in BJP rallies show the difference between people coming to rallies on their own and people brought for them,” said Yadav, in a tweet in Hindi. The vacant seats in BJP rallies are indicating that the BJP seats in the next assembly too will remain “vacant”, he added in his tweet. Starting at 12.30 pm on Wednesday, Yadav’s poll campaign tour vehicle reached Lucknow at about 4.30 am on Thursday, covering a distance of about 350 km from Ghazipur to Lucknow, with an enthusiastic crowd of supporters gathering on the Purvanchal Expressway to welcome him. Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar and Janwadi Party's Sanjay Chauhan were also present with Akhilesh Yadav during the fourth leg of the yatra. The SP’s Vijay Rath yatra of SP was launched last month from Kanpur to the Bundelkhand region. It later went from Lucknow to Hardoi and then from Gorakhpur to Kushinagar.

Ballia (UP), Nov 11 (PTI) A day after saying that there would have been no partition if Muhammad Ali Jinnah was made the first prime minister of the country, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar blamed the RSS on Thursday for the historic event.Reiterating his stand, Rajbhar said if Jinnah was made the first prime minister of independent India, there would have been no partition, India would have been a big country and all kinds of problems would not have arisen.The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is responsible for India's partition and not Jinnah. The state of dispute was created by the Sangh itself, he told PTI.The SBSP chief said leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani and Govind Ballabh Pant had praised Jinnah, who had contributions in the country achieving independence.He fought for the country, he said while asserting that after independence, Jinnah should have been made the prime Minister.In the wake of his poll ally Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav speaking about Jinnah in the same breath as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru as freedom fighters, drawing criticism from BJP leaders including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Rajbhar had on Wednesday said the partition of the country could have been avoided by making Jinnah the prime minister.Addressing a public meeting in Hardoi recently, Yadav had said, Sardar Patel, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and (Muhammad Ali) Jinnah studied in the same institute and became barristers. To a question on mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, Rajbhar, who recently met the Mau MLA in the Banda jail, alleged that BJP leaders contributed the most in making Ansari a lawmaker.BJP leaders made Mukhtar Ansari victorious, he said, adding that he has proof to substantiate his claim.The SBSP leader also claimed that Akhilesh Yadav and his estranged uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, who has floated his own political party, will be united soon.When Shivpal Yadav is ready to merge his party with the SP, there is no problem in both the leaders coming together, he said.
