A day after Congress achieved managed a breakthrough in the political crisis that has been brewing in Rajasthan for a month, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said, “peace and brotherhood” will remain in the party.

Political crisis in the state spilled out in public last month after Gehlot’s former deputy Sachin Pilot broke ranks with him and walked away with 18 other MLAs.

On Monday, Pilot met with the party’s top leadership in New Delhi, who reportedly agreed to listen to his grievances. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi ordered for a three-member committee to address the grievances of the rebel MLAs.

“A three-member committee has been formed to resolve the grievances,” Gehlot said, before taking a shot at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of trying to topple his government.

“BJP tried its best to topple the govt, but in the end, all our party MLAs are together, not even one has left us,” the Rajasthan CM said.

He also spoke on raids by the Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate on state party leaders as well as his brother Agrasain Gehlot. “Income Tax and CBI are being misused and politics is being done in the name of religion,” Gehlot said.

“But our govt will complete its full term of 5 years and we will win the next elections as well: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot,” he added.
