America’s top immunologist and staple name in every American household since the inception of the coronavirus pandemic, Dr Anthony Fauci, is of an opinion that Santa Claus is immune to COVID-19 adding that Kris Kringle will spread joy instead of the deadly novel coronavirus.

During an interview with USA Today, the 79-year-old stated, “Santa is exempt from this because Santa, of all the good qualities, has a lot of good innate immunity.”

As the US ushers in the festive season on November 26 with Thanksgiving, Christmas is just round the corner. Americans, however, will be quick to recall that the pandemic has killed 258,698 fellow citizens as 12,098,523 others contracted the virus, which originated from the wet markets of Wuhan, China.

Despite Father Christmas’ staggering age of 1,750, obesity issues and history of smoking, America’s top immunologist has cleared him for being susceptible to the disease.

“Santa is not going to be spreading any infections to anybody,” Fauci added.

Dr Peter Hotez, dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, said that Santa’s little helpers were busy chasing the virus from the north pole.

Hotez added, “I hear the ventilation in Santa’s workshop is not the best, and opening windows in North Pole winters is problematic.”

He further told USA Today, “The good news is that mask compliance there is pretty good, and the elves are committed to social distancing. Mrs Claus has implemented a programme of regular testing and the reindeers now lead contact tracing.”
