Shaktimaan, the Indian superhero television show, was every 90s kid’s favorite and not just that, it was also loved by the adults. Shaktimaan who is often regarded as Indian television’s first superhero needs no introduction. The show aired on Doordarshan in the late 1997 and finished in the year 2005.

The television program focused on the life of a superhero Shaktimaan and his alter ego, a newspaper photographer named, “Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri”. With poles apart personalities, both characters showed good chemistry on the screen hence was one of the most-watched shows of its time.

The lead actor, Mukesh Khanna, delivered a good news to its fans on Friday and announced that the show would be back. The 62-year-old actor took to Instagram to announce in Hindi that he will be making a three-film series based on Shaktimaan.

The actor said, “Ab baat duniya ko batane layak ho gai hai ki Shaktimaan dobara abtarit ho raha hai. Ji haan Shaktimaan ke doston, ab officially ye bata raha hoon ki main Shaktimaan 2 le kar aa raha hoon.”

(It’s time to tell the world that Shaktimaan is being renewed. Yes, friends of Shaktimaan, I am now officially stating that I am bringing Shaktimaan 2 soon.)

“Details dheere dheere hum disclose karenge. Filhaal itna bata sakta hoon ek bahut bade production house ke saath maine haath milaya hai is himalayan task ko anjaam dene ke liye (Details will be disclosed slowly. For now, all I can say that I have collaborated with a big production house to bring this grueling task to life),” Khanna added.

Mukesh Khanna concluded by promising the fans that the upcoming Shaktimaan project will be bigger and better than any other Bollywood movies. The work on the Shaktimaan series will start from 2021 as per media reports.
