The co-founder of HCL technologies, Shiv Nadar has stepped down from the position of chairman of the board of directors. Nadar’s daughter and the wealthiest woman of India, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, who held the position of a non-executive director, will now take over the post. She had featured in Forbes list of “The World’s Most Powerful Women” from 2017 to 2019.

However, Shiv Nadar will continue to be the managing director of the company. He will be given the designation of the chief strategy officer of the company, HCL said in a release.

HCL Enterprise was founded in 1976 by Shiv Nadar along with Ajai Chowdhry, Arjun Malhotra, and five others.

The company also posted its Q1 FY’21 results on Friday. It has reported a 31.70 percent increase in its net profit on a year-on-year at Rs 2,925 crore. The company had reported Rs 2,220 crore profit in the corresponding quarter last year.
