Team India on Wednesday announced the squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

Taking to Twitter, BCCI announced that the team includes Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.

The BCCI also said that Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar will be the standby players.

Meanwhile,  former India Captain Mahindra Singh Dhoni will be  the mentor of the team for the T20 World Cup.

Earlier, Krunal Pandya expressed hope to play a World Cup with his brother Hardik. The T20 World Cup will take place in Oman and the UAE from October 17.

Another T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played next year in Australia, after which India will host the 2023 World Cup.

India have been placed in Group 2 alongside Pakistan, New Zealand and Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup fixtures. India will start their campaign in a clash with Pakistan on October 24.

The team will play three of their four matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. One match will be played against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
