In
opposition of the three contentious farm laws, protesting farmers will undertake
a tractor rally or the ‘Kisan Gantantra Parade’ in the national capital on Tuesday.

The farmers
have said that their rally will not enter central Delhi and begin only after
the conclusion of the Republic Day parade, PTI reported.

In view of
the Republic Day celebrations as well as the proposed tractor rally, thousands
of armed personnel have been deployed at Rajpath and a number of border points
around Delhi.

Here’s
everything to know about the tractor rally:

·      The Delhi Traffic Police has issued
a traffic advisory in view of the parade. “Avoid taking NH44, GT-Karnal
road and NH10 as these will remain affected due to the tractor rally,” an
official said at a presser on Monday.

·      Traffic of NH 44 will divert at Singhu
Sani Mandir, Ashok farm Mukarba Chowk, ANI reported.

·      Commuters will face traffic disruptions
on National Highway between Karnal to Delhi and Rohtak to Delhi from January 25
to 27.

·      Interstate and local buses will not
operate from the Anand Vihar ISBT
from 6 am to 6 pm. Buses operating
from there will instead run from Sarai Kale Khan.

·      Around two lakh tractors are
expected to take part in the proposed rally, which will enter the city from the
Tikri, Ghazipur and Singhu border points.

·      The Singhu border route will be
63-kilometres long and pass through Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Bawana,
Qutabgarh, Auchandi border and Kharkhoda toll plaza.

·      The 62-kilometre long Tikri border
route will pass through Nagloi, Najafgarh, Jharoda border and Rohtak bypass and
Asoda toll plaza.

·      The route from Ghazipur will be
longest at 68 kilometres. It will Ghazipur will drive through Apsara border,
Hapur road and Lal Kuan.

·      Farmer leaders will be in their cars
at the frontlines of the rally. All vehicles will have to return to their points
of origin.

·      Farmer leaders have urged all
participants to carry rations for at least 24 hours.

·      Carrying weapons, drinking alcohol,
displaying banners with inciting messages are prohibited for participants.
