The most decorated team in the history of Copa America, Uruguay, will be seen battling Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Paraguay in the group stage. Uruguay have won 15 titles in the Latin American tournament, but their last title came a decade ago. Since 2011, La Celeste have been on the losing side of multiple knock-out games. They crashed out of the quarter-finals in the 2019 edition of Copa America.

Uruguay’s attack mainly depends upon the forms of star strikers Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez. The two have had impressive 2020-21 seasons with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid respectively. Suarez guided the Los Colchoneros to a La Liga title with 21 goals in 32 games. Cavani, on the other hand, scored 10 goals in 26 matches for the Red Devils. The two will be Uruguay’s key players for Copa America 2021.

Form guide: Uruguay have failed to win a game in 2021. They have not scored in three games.

Manager Óscar Tabárez is expected to go with a flat 4-4-2 formation in the tournament.
