World Hindi Day or Vishwa Hindi Divas is celebrated on January 10 every year. It aims to promote the use of the Hindi language internationally.

January 10 marks the first World Hindi Conference that took place in 1975, in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, had inaugurated the conference, while Mauritius Prime Minister Seewoosagur Ramgoolam was the chief guest. The conference was attended by 122 delegates from 30 countries.

In 2006, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declared January 10 as World Hindi Day.

Vishwa Hindi Divas is celebrated at various Indian Embassies and government offices through cultural events such as lectures.

World Hindi Day is often confused with the National Hindi Divas which is celebrated annually on September 14. While National Hindi Divas is observed to commemorate the day the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi as the official language of the Republic of India in 1949, World Hindi Day is aimed at presenting Hindi as an international language.
