United States men's national team striker Josh Sargent has signed for £8 million for Norwich City from German club Werder Bremen on a four-year deal, the newly-promoted Premier League side announced on Monday.
"It feels great. I've always wanted to play in the Premier League, so it's a very exciting opportunity for me," Sargent said in a club statement.
"I think the Premier League is the best league in the world and it's going to push me and challenge me to be a better player. I heard it's a good group of guys and I talked with the head coach already and I really like what they're trying to do here at Norwich. I'm very excited to get started."
Sargent will join his former teammate Milot Rashica at Norwich and he said the winger has had only "positive things to say about" the club.
Talking about his primary position on the football pitch, Sargent said, "I like to think my main position is a number nine, but I am also very versatile. No matter where I play, everyone can expect that I will give my all, my 100 per cent, and hopefully score some goals."

The USA international was one of the few players to come out of Bremen's 2020/21 season, which ended in relegation, with any credit.
Since making his senior debut in December 2018, the 21-year-old had scored 15 goals in 83 appearances for Werder.
Meanwhile, for the national senior side, Sargent has made 15 appearances and registered five goals along with one assist.
