In a heartbreaking incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Kanpur, a disabled woman alleged that a police cop extracted nearly Rs. 15000 to search for her minor daughter, who was kidnapped a month ago. The sub-inspector was suspended on Tuesday PTI reported citing a senior police official. 

Gudiya, who walks on crutches, approached the DIG Kanpur on Monday and apprised him of SI's doings, who forced her (Gudiya) to pay the diesel bill of his vehicle for acting on her complaint, DIG, Preetinder Singh told PTI.

“Assistant SP (Cantonment) Nikhil Pathak has been asked to hold an inquiry against the SI and submit his report,” the DIG said, adding he would take further action against the SI after receiving the report.

In an official complaint, Gudiya claimed that her 15 year-old daughter was kidnapped by a relative nearly a month ago and she had to borrow money from her relatives to pay Rs 10,000 to 15,000 to the policeman, Singh added.


According to police, an investigation has been launched to search Gudiya's daughter adding that the DIG is taking cognizance of the bribery charges against the UP police official.

Meanwhile, in another tragic tale of attaining justice for the loved ones, a man poured black motor oil on the car of a Kerala High Court judge in Kochi, while staging a protest demanding a fair probe into the disappearance of his relative since 2018, PTI reports.


However, the man was nabbed by judge's security guards and ws taken in for questioning.
