Five adults were found dead on Saturday at a home in Maryland, according to a statement on Twitter by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. The statement added that there isn’t a threat to the public and that the situation “appears to be isolated to the residence.”

The police have identified the suspect as Andres Sales, a 28-year-old man, who came into the house and fatally shot four people before shooting himself. The gun was recovered at the scene.

The victims have been identified as the shooter’s ex-girlfriend, Sara Mann, 21, her mother Sommaly Mann, 48, and her younger brother Kai Mann, 18. Another 23-year-old victim Javon Watson was also found dead at the scene but his relationship with the shooter or the family is unclear.

The Charles County Sheriff’s office said that deputies responded to the house at 4 p.m. Friday in response to a shooting report on a 911 call by one of the witnesses. The house is located about 35 miles (56 kilometers) south of Washington, D.C.

Diane Richardson, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office didn’t immediately respond to an email by Associated Press on Saturday asking if investigators could release more information on possible suspects or causes of death.

CNN reported that the authorities will conduct autopsies on the dead bodies to determine the cause of death for each victim. The family members are also being investigated to establish the motive behind the killing.

Two other children in the family who were initially unaccounted for were found safe later in another location. The sheriff’s office says that the investigation is ongoing and more details will be revealed later.
