A second tornado has followed the same path as the first in Mississippi. A State of Emergency has been issued in multiple cities and counties, including Winona, Eupora, Vaiden, Stewart and Walthall.

“The second circulation was only about 20 minutes behind the first. All of this after dark as well,” Tucker Antico, Meteorologist with Fox59 tweeted.

A tornado caused catastrophic destruction in Rolling Fork. Now a second has struck to the northeast, the National Weather Service confirmed. It has caused damage in the towns of Silver City and Belzoni. Winona, Eupora, Vaiden, Stewart and placed Walthall under emergency.

Power Outages have been reported throughout the state. Over 94% of customers in Sharkey County without service, along with over 57% of customers without power in neighboring Humphreys County.

As of 8:41 p.m. CDT the tornado was in Belzoni. It moved northeast at 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Thorton, Tchula, Howard, Seven Pines, Black Hawk, Coila, Emory, Cruger and Carrollton are all in the way.

A large, extremely deadly tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, take cover now!” the emergency declared.

Another emergency is in effect for Monroe County. As of 10:48 PM CDT, the tornado was located near New Wren, or roughly 20 miles south-southeast of Tupelo.

Rolling Fork mayor Eldridge Walker told WLBT-TV that he was unable to get out of his damaged home soon after the tornado hit. The power lines were down. He said emergency responders were trying to take injured people to hospitals.
