Aaron Lamont Swan Jr, the suspect in the killing of Brackenridge Police Chief Justin McIntire, was shot in Homewood by the police, according to a tweet by local radio host Colin Dunlop.

Some reports on Twitter are suggesting that Lamont Swan Jr was arrested and taken into custody by the police. The police are yet to release a statement confirming his arrest.

Channels 11 News reported citing multiple sources that he has been taken into custody by police in Homewood, Pittsburgh. 

However, some reports say that he was shot dead and the update about him being in custody is incorrect.

The exact details of his death will be confirmed by the police. 

Lamont Swan Jr is the suspect in the murder of Justin McIntire on Monday near 6th Avenue and Morgan Street in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Another officer, who was with McIntire, was shot in the leg and is now reportedly stable.

Lamont Swan Jr escaped the scene by carjacking a 2014 silver Subaru Legacy. He was at large for a long time before the police tracked him down in Homewood. The police had said earlier that Swan Jr was armed and dangerous, however, it is not clear if he fired at the police officers when they tried to arrest him.
