15-time Grammy Award winner, Adele, makes another record as her recently released album, named “30,” an amalgamation of 12 songs, secured the title of the fastest selling album of 2021, in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

The singer’s fourth studio album released was on November 19, and after a mere three days, it became the most successful album in the US, as reported by Billboard. 

“30” received the biggest opening week of the year after its first week sales added up to 261,000, as claimed by Official Charts Company.  The figure broke the records of ‘Divide’ by Ed Sheeran which was released in 2017. In the female solo album category as well, the figures are the biggest since Adele’s last album ’25’ which was released in 2015.

The Official Charts Company said, “It becomes Adele’s fourth UK Number 1 album; she has now reached Number one on the Official Albums Chart with all of her studio albums, a record for a female act, All of Adele’s previous albums are also present in the chart this week; 25 (Number 15), 21 (Number 18) and 19 (Number 31).” 

 “Easy on Me,” the album’s lead single claimed a number one for the sixth consecutive week on the UK singles chart. 

The album received huge appreciation from the fans and critics for its originality and honesty. Adele, on record claimed, that she made this album to explain her separation from her son.

The album is expected to grow in popularity having already  sold more than 660,000 equivalent album units.
