Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York has registered an overwhelming victory on Tuesday to win her re-election to the US House of Representatives, The New York Times reported. Ocasio-Cortez defeated the first-time Republican challenger John Cummings, to win New York’s 14th Congressional district.

Cummings, a 60-year-old Catholic high school teacher and former New York Police Department officer, raised over $10 million, making the race the second most expensive House contest, The Times reported.

He trailed Ocasio-Cortez by nearly 37 percentage points with all districts reporting.

31-year old Ocasio-Cortez is the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.
