Actor Drake Bell, who is famed for his role in the classic sitcom ‘Drake and Josh’, accepted the accusations of attempted endangering of children on Wednesday and pleaded guilty, according to US media reports quoting the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office in the state of Ohio.

The actor has been a part of the legal tussle since 2018 after a 15-year-old complained about an incident that involved Bell and her at a nightclub in Cleveland. The incident was reported to Canadian authorities, reported CNN quoting statements from the prosecutors.

The statement further clarified that the Cleveland police authorities were contacted to carry on the investigations, which revealed that the victim has established a relationship with Bell.

The victim also reportedly attended a concert, in which Bell performed, in 2017, several years before the two established a relationship.

The prosecutor’s office said that Bell “violated his duty of care and, in doing so, created a risk of harm to the victim”, reported CNN. Bell also reportedly sent inappropriate messages to the victim on their social media handles in the months leading up to the concert.

After his guilty plea, Bell’s sentencing has been scheduled for July 12, 2021.
