Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) usually unveils lots of new software and applications, and if users are lucky, a dash of exciting hardware launches.

At this year’s conference, Apple revealed the new M2 chip, which is set to be a powerful processor for the all-new MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Here, we take a look at the key features of the new MacBook Pro.

1. An active cooling system that will help the device maintain its pro performance.

2. The 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU will allow users to work with images in applications such as Affinity Photo at a 40% faster rate than before. The processing speed will be about 3.4 times faster for users who upgrade from a model without Apple silicon.

3. Users will be able to play graphically enhanced games such as Baldur’s Gate 3 with a processing speed about 40% better than the older 13-inch MacBook Pro. For those who upgrade from a model without Apple silicon, the speed will be about 3.3 times faster.

4. The 13-inch MacBook Pro, which runs on the recently announced M2 chip, has a memory space of 24GB and 50% more memory bandwidth. These features will facilitate smooth multitasking.

5. Thanks to M2’s ProRes encode and decode, users will be able to play back up to 11 streams of 4K videos and up to two streams of 8K ProRes clips. Conversion of video projects will be almost three times faster than before.
