Law enforcement authorities were responding to a civilian call in Arcadia, California. The scene quickly unfolded into a violent shooting that injured multiple people, including a police officer. The incident was reported around 4 PM. Here is what we know so far about the shooting:

-Three people have been injured in the shooting. Authorities reported that all of them have been rushed to the hospital for first aid.

-The shooting incident was reported at the 2500 block of Greenfield Avenue in Arcadia, California around 4 PM local time. SWAT teams were also spotted outside the residence on Wednesday evening.

-The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department took over the crime scene and assumed tactical control, according to CBS News. Law enforcement officials also reported that a crisis negotiation team has been deployed to contact the suspect and aim for a “peaceful resolution.”

-The suspect said that he has “chemicals” inside his residence. While it is not clear which chemicals the suspect is talking about, CBS News reported that the new information has raised concerns for law enforcement officials at the scene.

-Arcadia police confirmed reports of a police officer being shot in the face. While the official has not been identified so far, Arcadia Police Department said they had been associated with the force for about six months and had three years of law enforcement experience.

-Preliminary investigations suggest that the conflict started between two brothers, one of which had a gun. The suspect began to fire when officers arrived at the home which is when he shot the officer in the face and the family member in the upper body.

-Brett Bourgeous, a lieutenant in Arcadia’s police force, said that it was a “sad situation all around.” He added, “We’re concerned about the person inside. We’re concerned about the people that were injured.”
