Pennsylvania residents were handed a shock on Sunday evening, November 6, when a shooting at a shopping mall in Beaver County resulted in two victims being airlifted to a hospital. Following the shooting, the authorities arrested a suspect in connection with the crime.

The police received reports of a shooting incident at the shopping mall at around 6:32 pm and responded to the scene. They were accompanied by emergency responders to the scene at 3940 Broadhead Road in Monaca. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and have confirmed that one of the victims sustained gunshot injuries.

However, the police have not revealed why a second victim was airlifted to the hospital along with the gunshot victim. Following the shooting, an official from Pennsylvania State University’s Beaver campus revealed that a stay-indoors advisory was issued to the students, while the students who were already out of the campus, were urged to avoid the scene.

Investigating officers have revealed that one suspect was taken into custody after the shooting incident from Wagner Road near Lowe’s an hour later, at around 7:36 pm. Sometime later, the Pennsylvania State University lifted its advisory to its students, at around 7:52 pm.

The identities of the victims who were flown to the hospital or the suspect who was taken into custody are yet to be revealed by the police.

The incident comes less than a day after a mass shooting outside a bar in Philadelphia’s Kensington section, which resulted in at least 10 victims sustaining gunshot injuries. The victims were transported to nearby hospitals as soon as possible.

US President Joe Biden has recently spoken out against the increasing gun violence in the country. “Enough. We’ve grieved and prayed with too many families who have had to bear the terrible burden of these mass shootings,” he said.
