Brian Stelter is quitting CNN after Reliable Sources, the programme he hosted, got cancelled. The 36-year-old was known to take on Donald Trump and his relationship with Fox News, commenting on how media houses often modified truth to fit their narratives. As a result, several conservatives had a target on his back and had accused CNN of biased reporting too.

Stelter’s exit has drawn mixed reactions, with conservatives rejoicing while the opposite camp has noted the loss of a media personality.

Noted horror author Stephen King remarked “The one show on CNN I never missed was Reliable Sources, with Brian Stelter. It has been an invaluable window into how the media covers…itself. Today CNN cancelled it.”

Tim Pool, a former VICE journalist noted “American Democracy has died”, since Stelter’s exit comes in the same week as Liz Cheney lost her Wyoming seat to a Trump-backed candidate.

What liberals have seen as the death of democracy, conservatives have seen as an occasion to rejoice.

Lauren Boebert, the Congresswoman from Colorado, commented “Brian Stelter had his show cancelled on CNN. What are the odds Loser Liz takes his place?”

Monica Crowley, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury added, “Brian Stelter AND Liz Cheney getting canned the same week is like Christmas, Mardi Gras and Independence Day all at the same time”, following it with an emoticon in a party hat.

Similarly, Dinesh D’Souza, who has his own podcast, remarked how Cheney announced her presidential run after losing the Wyoming seat. “Taking a cue from Liz Cheney, I expect Brian Stelter to say he’s now thinking of putting in his name for the presidency of CNN”, he said.
