Brian Stelter is a career news person, having started as an editor for TVNewser, which he founded and sold off. Then, he went to New York Times and joined CNN in 2013, but is quitting now, because the network is cancelling Reliable Sources, the programme he hosted.

The 36-year-old spoke of his final appearance, which is on August 21. “I loved anchoring @ReliableSources. It was a rare privilege to lead a weekly show focused on the press at a time when it has never been more consequential. And here’s the thing…” he said, adding, “We’re going to do it one more time. One more show. This Sunday morning. The small but mighty producing team is working on bookings and ideas right now. I am in awe of their talent and I am going to do everything I can to help them find new roles. See you Sunday at 11am ET”.

While Stelter has not revealed his future plans yet, the father of two loves spending time with his children and regularly posts about them.

Since the news of his CNN exit has sent the internet into a tizzy, Stelter recounted a moment with his daughter involving “good news and some bad news”.

Earlier, he’d posted “I picked a bad day to violate the ABC rule — Always Be Charging. I took the kiddos out sightseeing in midtown Manhattan and my phone’s at 2%”, and ended the message with a palm to one’s face.

A day before the news of the resignation, Stelter posted a photo of his kids, saying “She lifts him up… and makes him stronger… and he’s doing the same for her”.

On another occasion, he posted a photo where the kids had gone to their first Mets game, noting “they were 25% more attentive than they were at their first Yankees game”.

Stelter is already a known name in his field and has a net worth of about $10 million as of 2022. Thus, there’s no compulsion for Stelter to seek another job immediately, but he’s got other commitments like a podcast and authorial ventures that the news anchor might undertake.
