Britain’s Prince Harry is heartbroken over breaking ties with the royal family but has adjusted and is happy in his new life in the United States, Reuters reported broadcaster and confidant to the couple Tom Bradby saying in an interview.
Last year, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle moved to California with their baby son Archie after abruptly resigning from their royal roles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had made the announcement following disagreements with other members of the royal family.
In an interview for ITV’s ‘Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh’ show, Brady said, “I think he is heartbroken by the situation with his family.”
But he added that it wouldn’t be right to presume that the couple are unhappy. “I think they are pretty happy actually, but I think they wrestle with their position in life, I think they all do,” he said.
Since ceasing royal duties and moving to California this year, the couple have launched various creative ventures, and begun legal actions against British tabloids over privacy violations. This includes a deal with Spotify to produce podcasts that tell “uplifting and entertaining stories”.
The couple also signed a multi-year contract, reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars, with streaming giant Netflix to produce “impactful” films and series.
Meanwhile Markle, a former television actress, narrated a wildlife documentary on Disney+ in 2020.
