Eight people have been reported dead and many injured in separate shooting incidents reported in three American cities on Tuesday. Of the dead, four were killed at a farm and three other people at a trucking company two miles away.

The shootings took place in the city of Half Moon Bay, according to local media reports.

Police officials from San Mateo County said that “a shooting incident with multiple victims” has taken place. A suspect drove himself to the sheriff’s office and turned himself in, CBS reported.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter: “Suspect is in custody. There is no ongoing threat to the community at this time.” The man has been identified as 67-year-old Zhao Chunli.

The latest incident comes hours after the Des Moines school shooting where two students were killed and an adult employee was injured. The shooting occurred at an educational program called Starts Right Here which is affiliated with the Des Moines school district.

“We are saddened to learn of another act of gun violence, especially one that impacts an organization that works closely with some of our students. We are still waiting to learn more details, but our thoughts are with any victims of this incident and their families and friends, ” The Des Moines school district said in a statement.

Half Moon Bay is approximately 28 miles south of San Francisco and lies within the westernmost portion of San Mateo County.
