One of the longest-serving Trump administration officials, Stephanie Grisham, filed her resignation, CNN reported. The resignation came in immediately after the violence in the US capitol by Trump supporters.

She had joined the outgoing President’s administration in 2015 as a press wrangler on the campaign trail when Trump was still a candidate for Presidential elections.

Grisham entered the White House as a press secretary under Sean Spice but was soon hired by Melania Trump for the East Wing staff. In her role as communications director in the East Wing, she soon rose to become the First Lady’s most prominent staff – acting as a protector and defender of Mrs Trump.

In May 2019, Grisham became Donald Trump’s third press secretary and also the communication director for the White House. However, during her term, she never conducted an on-camera press briefing which has always been the modus operandi for a White House press secretary. All this while, she still maintained the same role in Melania Trump’s office.

Following some disputes with Mark Meadows, chief of staff, in April last year, Grisham was replaced as press secretary by Kayleigh McEnany. She returned to Melania’s office now with a bigger role. She was made the chief of staff for Melania Trump. According to reports, she shared a very close relationship with the First Lady.
