According to an FBI criminal complaint, the young woman who reportedly was involved in the violent riots at the US Capitol and embezzlement of Nancy Pelosi’s laptop during the incident hoped to sell it off to a Russian spy agency, reported AFP.

The report is seeking the arrest of Riley June Williams, a resident of Pennsylvania, for the accusation of “disorderly conduct and violent entry on Capitol grounds”.  However, the whereabouts of the woman is still unknown.

An FBI agent said the woman was last seen near Pelosi’s chambers in the Capitol building, based on several videos and photos which captured the violent intrusion.

According to a witness, who claims to be a former romantic partner of Willams stated in court that she was planning to send the stolen laptop to a friend in Russia who would further sell it off to an intelligence agency called SVR, reported AFP.

The filed affidavit added, “The sale fell through for unknown reasons, and Williams still has the computer device or destroyed it.”

Videos taken on the day of the incident show the woman directing the intruders and saying “upstairs, upstairs, upstairs”.

The accused’s mother, who lives in the city of Harrisburg, confirmed the identity of a brown-haired, thin woman as Williams after being shown pictures of the incident. She added, ” her daughter had taken a sudden interest in President Trump’s politics.”

The woman came to the national capital with her father but was separated during the chaotic situation at the Capitol.

According to the complaint, which was filed at the US District Court in Washington, Willams packed a bag after returning home and said, “she was leaving for a couple of weeks”. The complaint added, “It appears that Williams has fled”.
