A fight at Carolina Place Mall on Sunday night lead to police attention. Police said the department was called for a false report of a shooting at the mall at around 6 pm to which they reacted.

The police officials rushed to the scene after getting information about the shooting. The mall went into lockdown as rumors of the shooting circulated.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, they were informed that a large fight occurred at the Carolina Place Mall but no shots were fired, as there are no signs of shooting.

The lockdown was also lifted after a brief investigation by the police officials.

Meanwhile, a shooting happened in the city of Chicago. The incident claimed the lives of four people and 16 have been injured in the Memorial Day weekend, as reported by police authorities.

According to police officials, a 36-year-old man was shot dead and 1 37-year-old woman was fatally injured in a shooting in the 2300 block of West 18th Street at around 2:55 a.m. on Saturday. As per reports, the two individuals were standing on the sidewalk, when they were shot. The individuals were rushed to the Mount Sinai Hospital, where the man was declared dead.

Prior to the incident, a 34-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound on the sidewalk in the 500 block of West Surf Street. The man was referred to the Illinois Masonic Medical Centre, where he was declared dead.

According to police officials, the investigation into the case is still on. Though, they have not yet detained anyone in the case.
