Citizens in several cities of United State’s Texas
have been directed to boil water before consumption as constant power
outage
disturbed functioning of water treatment plants in the state. The most
affected is city of Pflugerville where a ‘boil water’ notice was issued on
Monday.

The circular advised all the customers of public water
distribution system to boil any water prior to its consumption. The reason
behind the orders is that the prolonged power cut at the water treatment plant
that has caused water distribution pressures to fall below 20 per square inch (psi).

According to local media reports, the city authorities
have not informed about any estimated time period for repairs to be made to the
electric infrastructure following which they recommended storing two gallons of
potable water for every member of your household for at least 72-hour period.
