A golden statue of Donald Trump wearing shorts and flip flops is turning heads more heads than the speakers at the Conservative Political Action Conference(CPAC)

Created by California-based artist Tommy Zegan, the statue is 6 feet tall and was wheeled into Hyatt Regency Orlando while people were registering for the event. The statue has been put in a booth for Look Ahead America, a conservative nonprofit.

Donald Trump will be speaking at the event on Sunday. This would mark Trump’s first public appearance since he left the Oval Office.

The Conservative Political Action Conference started on February 25 and will end on February 28. It is one of the largest gatherings of political gatherings, held annually

Talking about his creation, Zegan said, “The coat and tie is the fact that he’s a professional, he’s a businessman. The red tie symbolizes he’s a Republican. The red white and blue is that he’s a patriot. The fact that he’s wearing thongs and shorts is that he’s at the age where he should be retired. He should be at the beach right now.”

Every aspect of the statue is intended to be symbolic.

According to Zegan, the art piece on display at CPAC is a fibreglass mold of the real creation. The real piece is a stainless steel sculpture and is currently stored in a Tampa warehouse. The statue may get a high-profile showcase.
