Bryan Kohberger, a Washington State University criminology student, has been arrested and charged with the murders of four students in Moscow, Idaho. His fellow classmates have now opened up about him to news media.

A student at WSU who spoke to New York Times on conditions of anonymity said that Kohberger did not have many friends and was not eager to socialise. He had apparently made rude comments to fellow students in the past.

Another student, B.K. Norton, said that she “could always sense that something was off” about Kohberger, further adding that “He sort of creeped people out because he stared and didn’t talk much, but when he did it was very intelligent and he needed everyone to know he was smart”.

The murders of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin had baffled law enforcement authorities for almost a month after they made a breakthrough by tracing a white Hyundai Elantra that was parked outside the victims’ home.

On Friday, Moscow Police Chief James Fry held a press conference where he announced the arrest of Kohberger. However, he has not yet revealed what motive Kohberger might have had for the murders.
