The Christmas weekend in the
US not only witnessed celebrations for the holiday, but also gun violence that
took place across the country, leaving at least 14
people dead and 16 others injured.

Shootings were reported between
Friday night and early Monday morning in several states including Minnesota, Missouri,
West Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Shootings during the holiday weekend began when a 19-year-old, identified as
Johntae Raymon Hudson, was shot dead in Minneapolis early on Saturday. Five
teenagers in connection with the shooting were arrested.

In Colorado, multiple shootings took place during the Christmas weekend, including two separate double homicides.

Two people were shot to death in Boston city at around 11 am. Just a few hours later, cops were called
to an address at East Tennessee Place, where they discovered two men suffering
from gunshot wounds, both of whom later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

In Florida, Sheriff’s deputy Ray Hamilton was
shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call on Saturday morning.

The same day, a three-year-old girl, Quezariah Jackson was killed inside her home in Kansas
City, Missouri. Police claimed that while the shooting is still under investigation,
it is believed to be accidental.

In Philadelphia, a man in his 30s was shot dead at 6 am at an intersection. Two other men in their 20s and 40s also sustained gunshot wounds. The same day, another man was shot dead in the forehead at a hotel.

Shootings also happened in West Virginia, where a family
argument led to a deadly shooting on Christmas
morning. Authorities stated that they received a call from a man who claimed to have accidentally shot his brother, who later died from his
injuries. 

In the state of Chicago, while conducting a
welfare check, police found a man dead from a gunshot wound to the head at around 8 pm on Christmas. 

A
21-year-old man, driving along South Prospect Avenue in New Jersey was shot twice in the back. The victim crashed his vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
