Several news reports, purported leaked photographs, and rumours have surfaced in recent months claiming that a slew of celebrities will appear in Marvel‘s upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While many insiders have rejected such leaks as phoney, a reliable source—creator—has suddenly appeared to corroborate that they are all true.

Rob Liefeld, a comic book writer and co-creator of Deadpool, recently revealed that all the rumours regarding Tom Cruise and John Krasinski making cameo appearances in the Doctor Strange sequel are true. He explained that they were most likely from people who had watched early test screenings of the film.

Rob commented on a YouTube edition of The Big Thing with Kristian Harloff, “Here’s the deal you all know, I want to know — have either of you been caught trying to sneak into a screening of Doctor Strange 2? …They are testing the s**t out of this movie. The thing is, uh, they’re testing, it’s all getting out.”

Rob went on to claim that some social media ideas regarding the film are right, without releasing the names of the actors who are likely to appear. “We’re all hitting those hashtags and we’re like, ‘Oh c**p! They’re showing this. People are seeing this.’ I think it’s safe to say some of the stuff, you just said that’s out there, it’s happening. It’s in, it’s been seen.”

Recently, leaked photos from the set of Doctor Strange 2 appear to show Tom Cruise costumed as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. According to some sources, John Krasinski, who starred in ‘The Office’ and ‘A Quiet Place’, would play Mr Fantastic.

The film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, follows the title character as he attempts to manage the consequences of his multiverse-fracturing spell from Spider-Man: No Way Home. With Marvel’s introduction of the multiverse and variants, various actors are slated to play variations of well-known characters that have already been on screen.

Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is due to hit theatres on May 6. The film also stars Elizabeth Olsen and Xochitl Gomez, in addition to Benedict.
