Donald Trump’s supporters are slamming Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and Deputy AG Meg Reiss after several reports said that the former President might get arrested in the Stormy Daniels hush money case. Social media users say that the prosecutor’s campaign was funded by billionaire George Soros.

American conservative political commentator Liz Wheeler’s tweet about Soros giving an alleged $1 million to Bragg’s campaign was retweeted by Republican senator Marjorie Taylor Greene.

“George Soros gave $1M to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s campaign. Bragg downgraded 52% of felonies to misdemeanors in NYC in 2022. But now Bragg plans to elevate a piddly misdemeanor to a felony because it’s Trump. This is political persecution,” Wheeler’s tweet read.

Greene urged ‘every single Republican should go scorched earth’.

“And anyone that thinks it stops with President Trump and thinks they won’t go after them is fooling themselves,” she added.

A spokesperson for Trump in a statement criticised Bragg shortly after the Republican leader said that he will be arrested on Tuesday. The representative further indicated that the Manhattan DA’s office hasn’t notified Trump or his legal team that the arrest is imminent.

“There has been no notification, other than illegal leaks from the Justice Department and the DA’s office, to NBC and other fake news carriers, that the George Soros-funded Radical Left Democrat prosecutor in Manhattan has decided to take his Witch-Hunt to the next level. President Trump is rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our injustice system. He will be in Texas next weekend for a giant rally. Make America Great Again!” the spokesperson said.

Soros is being criticised worldwide for attacking free democracies like India and the United States.

Republicans allege that Bragg’s 2021 campaign received support from a political action committee that took money from George Soros. The Color Of Change PAC allegedly received $1 million from billionaire philanthropist Soros.

DailyMail.com in February 2022 reported that the donation was later cut in half after an allegation was made against Bragg. The Manhattan prosecutor denied the allegation.

Several social media users are also claiming that Deputy AG Meg Reiss, who is a key member of Bragg’s team, is a close ally of Soros.

From NY law enforcement sources: Alvin Bragg isn’t smart enough to orchestrate the Trump prosecution. He’s an incompetent figurehead. He’s not the one to watch. His deputy Meg Reiss is behind this. She’s a close Soros operative and committed radical with significant global…” a Twitter user said.
