Spider-Man: No Way Home, the third movie in the Homecoming series featuring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, has fans already on the edge of their seats after a record-breaking trailer had them sharing all sorts of multiverse theories.

With many claiming that the third instalment will bring together Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man along with Tom Holland’s version, there are also questions around No Way Home wrapping up the Homecoming trilogy.

The first trailer of No Way Home reveals that the plot for the movie picks up after the events of Far From Home. Spider-Man’s identity has been revealed to the public and he’s being held responsible for the death of Mysterio. To fix this, Peter reaches out to Doctor Strange for help, who agrees and casts a spell. Both Strange and Parker mess up the spell, resulting in the earth opening itself to the dangers of the multiverse.

The hype around the movie is already pretty significant and continues to build up with fan theories suggesting Spider-men from different universes will come together.

With such a huge build surrounding No Way Home, it’s right to think that this wraps up the Homecoming franchise, which began in 2017, as a trilogy.

Tom Holland told EW that the cast and crew treated the film as last while on set and working through production.

Holland said that if the same cast was to reprise their roles again after No Way Home, it would be in a very different setting featuring different versions, meaning it won’t be a part of the Homecoming trilogy.
