Liz Cheney’s loss in Wyoming’s Republican primary got the party started in former US President Donald Trump‘s camp. Multiple allies, family members and lawmakers celebrated the election outcome.

The three-term Congresswoman had been a sharp critic of Trump. She is also the vice chair of the January 6th Committee, which is probing the former President’s involvement in the Capitol riots.

“Thank you WYOMING!”, Trump said minutes after the election outcome was announced. He added, “Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others.”

“Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be much happier than she is right now”, Trump wrote on TruthSocial.

Donald Trump Jr. posted a series of memes on his Twitter account after the result. One of them showed Liz Cheney serving Trump his order in McDonald’s drive-through. Another video was a montage of the former President doing his signature dance. The video was captioned “Bye Bye Cheney.”

Hageman, who bested Cheney on Tuesday, said in a statement, “Wyoming has spoken on behalf of everyone who is concerned that the game is becoming more and more rigged against them.”

The Republican added, “We can dislodge entrenched politicians who believe they’ve risen above the people they are supposed to represent and serve”, CNN reported.

Cheney also delivered an address minutes after the outcome was declared on Tuesday. I have said since January 6 that I will do whatever it takes to ensure Donald Trump is never again anywhere near the Oval Office — and I mean it,” she said.

Four hundred miles to the east of Cheney’s concession speech, festive Hageman supporters gathered at a sprawling outdoor rodeo and western culture festival in Cheyenne, many wearing cowboy boots, hats and blue jeans.
