Donald Trump profusely expressed his gratitude to the courthouse personnel and law enforcement officials in New York, where he was arrested on Tuesday.

In a statement on Wednesday, he said: “The GREAT PATRIOTS inside and outside of the Courthouse on Tuesday were unbelievably nice, in fact, they couldn’t have been nicer. Court attendants, Police Officers, and others were all very professional and represented New York City sooo well. Thank you to all!”

However, only a few hours later, the former President is now urging Republicans in Congress to “defund” the federal government’s law enforcement agencies in advance of a schedule for the budget in the fall. According to him, Democrats have “totally weaponized law enforcement in our country” in an effort to “viciously” meddle in elections. He encouraged GOP members of Congress to “defund the DOJ and the FBI until they come to their senses.”

Trump’s statement on Truth Social is similar to his speech on Tuesday night after his indictment, where he attacked specific law enforcement officers who were participating in investigations against him.

This included the Manhattan Criminal Court judge who presided over his arraignment on Tuesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith, the Fulton County District Attorney looking into his involvement in tampering with the outcome of the state’s election, the New York Attorney General who filed a civil lawsuit against the Trump Organization, the FBI agents who searched his Mar-A-Lago home, and the federal intelligence officers who questioned the reality of the infamous laptop connected to Hunter Biden.

In connection with his alleged $130,000 hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump is accused of 34 felonies. The payment was reportedly made to stop Ms. Daniels from talking about their 2006 affair.
