On a day that saw US President Joe Biden launch a scathing attack on Donald Trump, the former president has hit back with a statement of his own.

Trump spokesperson Taylor Budowich took to Twitter to convey the former President’s response to the scathing speech made by Vice-President Kamala Harris and President Biden.

In the statement, Trump claimed President Biden was “destroying” America through his “insane policies of open Borders, corrupt Elections, disastrous energy policies, unconstitutional mandates, and devastating school closures.” He added that Biden had used his name to “further divide America” on January 6, 2022.

Trump went on to claim that Biden had “completely and totally failed,” and reminded people that America “no longer has Borders, has totally and completely lost control of Covid (record numbers!), [and] is no longer Energy Independent.”

The former President further said that inflation was “rampant,” the US military “is in chaos” and that the US exit from Afghanistan “was perhaps the most embarrassing day in the long and distinguished history of the United States.”

Referring to the House Select Committee in charge of investigating the January 6 attack, Trump said that the “Unselect Committee” was made up of “totally partisan political hacks” who were deliberately turning a blind eye to his claims about the 2020 US Presidential elections being rigged, and said that the election itself was the “Big Lie.”

“The Democrats want to own this day of January 6th so they can stoke fears and divide America. I say, let them have it because America sees right through their lies and polarization,” concluded Trump.
