Before, DeSantis faced criticism after his campaign published a collage of phony images of President Trump hugging Dr. Fauci and dubbed it “Real Life Trump.”

According to The Gateway Pundit, a super PAC backing DeSantis called Never Back Down is ready to spend over a million dollars on a goofy advertisement utilizing a bogus AI-generated Trump audiotape that has him disparaging Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

“The blatant use of AI to fabricate President Trump’s voice is a desperate attempt by Always Back Down and Jeff Roe to deceive the American public because they know DeSanctimonious’ campaign is on life support,” Trump campaign senior adviser Chris LaCivita told Politico.

Tuesday saw the publishing of a statement from Kari Lake criticising this dishonest and desperate activity and pleading with Congress to establish legislation to prevent the misuse of AI for defamation.

Kari Lake is urging ALL politicians and PACs to make a commitment against utilizing artificial intelligence in campaign advertisements in response to the recent DeSantis PAC ad that featured an AI-generated voiceover of Donald Trump.
