Donald Trump, former U.S. President, is facing extreme criticism for an article he posted on Truth Social, a social media platform. More than the article’s content, the picture used is the reason behind the increasing backlash.
On 23rd March, the ex-President put up an article on Truth Social, and the picture comprised Trump holding a baseball bat along with a picture of District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The image of Bragg is in a defensive stance where he is holding up his hands.

Alvin Bragg is the prosecutor pursuing the case against Trump’s “hush money” payout, which was made to porn star Stormy Daniels to hide their alleged affair. Trump currently faces 34 felony charges against him.
Hours after the bat-yielding picture was put up, Trump went on a rant criticizing Bragg’s stance and threatening to entice “death and destruction” if the case went on further. This had dangerous implications as it took us back to 6th January 2021 when Trump encouraged his supporters to march to the Capitol and fight until Biden stepped down for President.

Donald trump recently deleted his "Truth Social" post in which he's holding a baseball bat next to a picture of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who incidentally was just threatened with a white powder substance and a message saying "Alvin: I will kill you." pic.twitter.com/NPD3fzx2LI…

This was followed by a group of Trump supporters breaking into the Capitol, smashing and destroying the building, and involving themselves with the police.
Upon questioning, Trump said that he was completely unaware that the article he shared would use the picture. He claimed the photo was taken at the White House in July 2019 to promote the “Made in America” initiative. He kept emphasizing that while posting the article, he had no idea that the picture would be put along with it.
During Trump's arraignment, the prosecution invoked a Trump social media post showing him holding a baseball bat next to an image of DA Alvin Bragg.

The post was later deleted but faced a lot of backlash from Democrats. It was said that this was a carefully planned move to entice violence by calling upon his supporters to protest against his arrest and trial.
