Although former President Donald Trump‘s daughter, Ivanka Trump, played a crucial role as one of the senior White House advisers during the first four years of his presidency back in 2016, she has made it clear that she does not plan to join her father’s 2024 campaign to return to the White House.

The reason cited by her was a desire to spend more time with the three kids she shares with her husband, Jared Kushner. “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” she said in her statement.

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she said in her statement. “I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our administration’s accomplishments.”

Both she and her husband worked as close aides to her father when he was in the Oval Office after having assisted in his campaigns in 2016 and 2020. Ivanka was also the one who introduced her father in 2015 as he kicked off his first Republican presidential campaign.

Following a chaotic tenure as the president, including the mishandling of the Covid pandemic and his refusal to concede the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, even after being defeated, Ivanka and Jared have maintained relatively low profiles, relocating to Miami area, Florida after moving out of Washington.

While Jared attended Trump’s 2024 campaign announcement, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday night,  Ivanka decided to skip it.

Also not in attendance was Donald Trump Jr., who was a supporter during his father’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns while helping run the eponymous Trump Organization. Apparently, he was hunting out west and could not get a flight back due to “bad weather,” a source close to him said. Over the last two years,  continued to echo his father’s falsehoods about the election being rigged on Twitter and call out Biden’s administration for not doing a good enough job.

Eric Trump, the third of Trump’s adult children, was in attendance at the speech.
