Former President Donald Trump teased an upcoming major announcement with a superhero-themed cartoon video Wednesday and was immediately targetted by trolls on Twitter.

The 15-second-long video was posted on his Truth Social network, where the 76-year-old former leader promised his followers that “America needs a superhero!” on screen. The video then cut to an animation of the former president posing like Superman in front of Trump Tower as fantastical music blared in the backdrop. A cartoon Trump tore open his business suit to reveal a chiseled T-logo bodysuit and laser blasting from his eyes.

The video message ended with the text “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT” on December 15. Needless to mention, he was heavily trolled on Twitter.

“Here’s my MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Donald trump is a weak, lying, racist, misogynist, seditious, treasonous a**whistle who belongs in prison for the rest of his miserable life,” one of the Twitter users said, while another wrote, “Trump says he’s going to make a major announcement tomorrow. Unless he admits to being responsible for leading an Armed Insurrection to Overthrow the United States Government, there will be nothing major about it.”

Another noted, “Unless the man’s major announcement is that he’s turning himself in, I don’t care.” One more stated, “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT- Donald Trump lost the popular vote twice and has never won an Emmy.” One more stated, “Many people are saying Captain Crazypants major announcement is he’ll sing the National Anthem at the Superbowl.”

It was not the first time Trump had used pop culture references to promote his agenda. In November of 2018, he teased sanctions on Iran by tweeting a “Game of Thrones”-inspired meme.
