Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson seems to have joined the Joe Rogan vs Neil Young fiasco. Dwayne showed full support for Spotify podcaster Joe Rogan after the latter was accused of spreading misleading information about the novel coronavirus.

Rogan has recently received backlash from various notable public figures like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, who urged the music platform to remove his podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’.

After days of remaining nonchalant, Rogan finally broke his silence by releasing a nearly 10-minute long video on Instagram, addressing the controversy.

Posted two days ago, the lengthy video soon caught the attention of the actor, who then took to the comments and wrote, “great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated. Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

The duo often share friendly comments on social media. According to Fox News, Rogan had defended the actor back in 2020, when many speculated Dwayne to run for political office.

Rogan’s video has garnered over 7.4 million views and more than 84,000 comments. Several public figures lauded Rogan’s stance. Athlete Shawn Baker wrote, “the time for strong men to stand up is long past due!”

Martial artist Rener Gracie added, “if we all addressed our obstacles with this much clarity and humility, the world would be a much better place.”

In the video, Rogan discusses the challenges during pre production, and how his shows are often spontaneous and unscripted. He further added how the world is still learning and uncovering all aspects of the virus. Rogan also stated that he would consider putting up a disclaimer at the beginning of interviews that have nonconformist opinions on the virus.

Last week, several musicians including Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Nils Lofgren shared announcements about removing their music catalog from Spotify.
