A shooting incident occurred at a playground in Philadelphia’s East Oak Lane neighborhood on Sunday night. As of now, police officials are investigating the incident, the shooting injured four boys and one girl.

Police were called to the Sturgis Playground, close to the intersection of W. 65th Avenue and N. 2nd Street, just before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Four teens were hit by gunshot while responding to the alleged shooting at Sturgis Playground, said authorities. Three boys, ages 17 and 16, and a female, also 17, were among the victims. Fortunately, despite the severity of the tragedy, all four victims were found to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Later that night, authorities revealed that a “young person” with non-life-threatening wounds had arrived at a local hospital in connection with the same gunshot event at Sturgis Playground. According to the information provided, the police have not yet disclosed any other identifying information about this person. According to authorities, this person’s injuries are related to the earlier shooting event at the playground.

As reported by NBC, the youngsters were at the Sturgis Playground on Sunday night when they were confronted by at least one, perhaps more, individuals who opened fire. Four of the teenagers were wounded by bullets and suffered injuries when the attackers started firing at them.

According to information from the police, a sizable number of shot casings—at least 18—were found at the Sturgis Playground. These shell casings were discovered scattered across a vast area, suggesting that either a single shooter chased the victims or that there were several shooters dispersed throughout the playground at the time of the shooting.

Law enforcement has not made any arrests in relation to the shooting as of yet, and they still don’t know exactly why the attack happened. The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
